One of the most noteable things about the Lafuma Evolution recliner is the fact that it includes Lafumas new, patented and state-of-the-art clipper system. What this means is that whereas other models of the Lafuma recliner featured elastic thread to attach the sitting surface fabric to the frame of the chair, the Evolution uses special flexible clips which are sewn directly to the fabric and are easily attached directly to the frame of the chair.

According to Lafuma themselves, this way of attaching the sitting surface to the frame is over 100 times stronger than the previous elasticated method. These clips provide not only a more stable sitting surface, but reduce the amount of sag that will occur as they simply don't wear out and begin to sag in the same way which elastic does.

In addition to this - as the word "clips" implies - the fabric sitting surface is easily detatched from (and reattached to) the frame of the chair, making the chair fabric much more easily cleaned.

There are actually a number of different chairs made by Lafuma (and indeed many other non-chair Lafuma products) but generally speaking when a person refers to the Lafuma chair, they are referring to the Lafuma recliner.

The Lafuma recliner looks similar to other reclining chairs on the market in the sense that it is a similar shape and operates in the same way (the arms lift to enable the back and leg rest to be adjusted). It is however, a lot more modern-looking and ergonomic by design. Indeed, many consider the Lafuma chair to look almost space-age, with it's tubular metal frame.

Recliners in the Lafuma chairs range are considered to be head and shoulders above the competition from a comfort perspective. This is due to the aforementioned design ergonomics, which actually offer real physical benefits as appose to simply being purely aesthetic.

Currently, most Lafuma recliners are made from either a thick-padded Airlon material (which they call the "RSX" model) or a stretchy Batyline mesh material (the "RSXA" model) which is not padded but happens to be lighter and can mould itself to your body shape, therefor providing the same if not a greater level of comfort.

Although these Lafuma chairs were designed as an outdoor garden recliner, the practicality of the chair coupled with its modern ergonomic design and added comfort levels have seen it be adopted for use by many therapists, where patients are obviously required to be as comfortable and relaxed as possible. We believe this to be a great testament to the level of quality of these chairs.
